It's the same it was in the 60s, 70s, 80s,90s, etc... More needs to be done in the Schools but all so at home!

I'm pretty sure the parents of the bullies have zero clue and probably are bullies themselves.

I mean I don’t think airing out the dirty laundry is appropriate, but at the same time if they offered a 9th grader drug rehab and mental health help on 5 occasions, clearly they tried to help and knew something was wrong.

Add in the Mom dying of drugs 7 years ago and I don’t think it’s fair to pin her suicide on the girls who bullied her (even though they were wrong). It’s clear there were major issues going on with this girl in general

Seriously.

You ever hear of legal counsel buddy?

Just say we're sorry for the family, talk to our attorneys...

You can do whatever mental gymnastics you want. There is simply no excuse to attack a child. You can bring whatever ancillary conditions you want. The fact remains this girl didn't deserve being bullied and attacked like that. Talk about carrying water for bullies.

The latest development in this sad saga:

Central Regional School District superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides resigned Saturday, the district said, only eight days after a bullied 14-year-old freshman at the local high school died by suicide.

I guess you could say they bullied him out of a job.

the superintendent resigned instead of being part of the solution or find accountability he just quit. i can’t understand that logic. he is either a spineless weak individual who can’t handle any pressures or stressors, or just completely over his head. qualities we want in school leadership i suppose. is this the modern enlightenment way of thinking? something high profile happens and the knee jerk reaction is for the top person to quit. beyond frustrating and accomplishes nothing. but i guess we can now learn if your kid is being bullied phone the superintendent.

It's a complicated problem to solve but I'd say that kids that are bullies probably have parents that are bullies as well. Then you end up with kids like Biff Tannon.

Bullying SHOULD be stopped as early as possible, bigger issue is how it begins in the first place.
