Id like to discuss the Scottish food markets in NJ. I surprisingly did not know they existed. But I have found two of them.

Stewart's Scottish Market - Traditional Scottish Food

https://cameronsscottishfoods.com/about

One in Kearny, and one in Brick but used to be in Kearny. Anyone ever been? How is the quality? Do you know of any good sit down restaurants serving Scottish cuisine?

Many years ago, my Scottish great aunt used to go to Kearny to get Scottish food. She always brought some back for our family. I remember the Scottish Meat Pies were wonderful (back when I ate meat!). I have no idea how they are today, but your post brought back good memories.

I remember my friend taking me to Stewart's. She grew up in Kearny and was half Scot, half Irish. My BIL was Scottish, and I bought some things for him there.

It was a long time ago, though, back in the 90's. My friend is no longer on the planet.

I used to shop periodically at The Scottish Gourmet, in South Plainfield. Sadly, it closed more than 5 years ago. They were an importer of high-end Scottish food products, and the "shop" was actually a bare-bones corner of their warehouse, but the selection was pretty good, and the prices were reasonable, given the high quality of their products.

By the way, if "yuhs" are from Kearny, it's pronounced "Storts", just like Newark is "Nork".

I just went there. I was a little underwhelmed. It is just a counter with glass display. I want steam tables with hot food ready to eat.
