To bad New Mexico as a whole is at or near the bottom of the list in nearly every conceivable quality of life standard in the country.
Don't get me wrong. I love New Mexico, and regular people can and do make a good life here in this amazing land, but for most who are here voluntarily or by fate, it is a struggle that most LA residents cannot even conceive of, except maybe a glimpse, as they drive through Española on their way to some white linen table service in Santa Fe.
Los Alamos = white collar welfare. Those salaries and the benefits are overinflated in my estimation, giving that city the outlier effect in this state.
New Mexico simply needs a more business friendly environment and private sector employers, not some de-centralized bloated bureaucracy in D.C. that influences the backdrop.
