Santa Fe. There are a number of nice hikes near the SF ski area, including Aspen Vista picnic ground.

I was at Sandia Crest today but it was already too late, most of the aspens off the North Crest Trail are bare. There is some good color to enjoy on the drive up the Crest Highway.

A post on a hiking site from two days ago said that Aspen Vista (near SF Ski Area) was good.

Someone on FB posted an Oct 5 picture of Red Maples in Fourth of July Canyon/Manzano Mountains (at end of campground road). Very pretty.

Edited to Add: Fall foliage is supposed to be peaking this week along the Enchanted Circle near Taos. Will be over soon.

That's a good trip.

I like to stop at the Las Conchas Trailhead on hwy 4 and hike along the stream.

Wish I were there now.

Cottonwoods just turning around there. Aspens seemed to have peaked already, but still lots of yellow anyway. Thinking this coming weekend might be the best one for overall, maybe. Crowds at Bandalier surprisingly small, Jemez lots of bikers out and about, and Jemez Springs was jam packed with people. Might try Las Vegas and Pecos this weekend, though Cloudcroft area has been posting some pretty shots. Didn't do 4th of July Campground this year because I figured it'd be slammed.
