The only "mall" I can think of going up right now is the new Marketfair, which is just a shopping center that's getting totally revamped. Not a mall. No skyscraper lol.

Looks like Greenville is the lone shining star in the heart of Eastern NC. ECU has done wonders for that city.
Triangle and Charlotte growth are just amazing compared with the rest of the state. When one sees NC topping the growth lists, it's easy to see where most of it is. Suburbs of these areas are creeping into the top 25 and overtaking what were once significant standalone cities. Places like Mooresville now larger than Statesville and Indian Trail larger than Monroe.
