I'm not trying to pick apart this post, but I remembered Maya Angelou being from somewhere else, so I just looked her up and found this:
"Maya Angelou was born Marguerite Ann Johnson in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 4, 1928. In 1931, when she was three years old, her parents divorced and she and her 4-year old brother, Bailey, were sent alone, by train, to live with their grandmother in Stamps, Arkansas"

But she lives in the Winston Salem area, I see her drinking wine at an italian restaurant from time to time.
In the latter 1980's, I used to live down the road (Gordon Road) from Michael Jordan's family in Wilmington. We always knew when Michael was in town because we'd always see the little Carolina blue Mercedes Benz convertible with UNC 23 on the license plate. That was pretty cool!
Doesn't Dennis Hopper live around Wilmington now? I also thought that Ned Beatty lives in the Wilmywood area, too.
Dennis owns property on Front St. in Wilmington, but does not reside here. He has visited from time to time. He purchased the property after filming on location here and enjoying the area so much. He rents out his building.
