My bro in law is a commercial and residential architect. Best thing he did was build his home using icf forms.
(1) best fire safe structure.
(2) roof is steel
(3) one level structure. No need for 2nd story framing.
(4) doors are special made due to frames. bonus on security!
(5) home stays cooler
(6) land played an important part to save from foundation problems and flooding.
Ok, so looks like it's been awhile, but anyone have anything else to share since? We would like to build with ICF as well, but have zero experience with this type of home. Also, just general opinions from those who own an ICF house as to cost, upkeep, etc. Thanks.
