His daughter lives in Shamokin and is presumably acting as Shamokin sherpa, and evidently underscores that there are great real estate bargains to be had. [pops popcorn and awaits return of the OP]
LOL what a hilarious series of Shamokin threads. Do you have any updates, did OP ever move? I can´t wait for the posts, post-move LOL

I was surprised the OP kept it up as long as he did, but it started getting old and he wasn't getting any more creative. I think he must have found some other distraction, or got back on his meds or something. Maybe he'll some back when the Shamokin International Shakespeare Festival begins again in the spring?

I couldn't help but imagine his daughter and SIL were leading a VERY different lifestlye in Shamokin than what they lead him on to believe...probably a lot of "cooking" if you know what I mean LOL. He claims he bought a house there, so who knows. That part of PA is where I have fond memories as a child but as an adult, I can't imagine relocating there on purpose. I really hope the coal region sees a turn around but I just don't see anything meaningful in the cards as of now. Hopefully I'm wrong though. I would have liked to see and experience the local towns as they were when my parents were growing up there. I came to these threads hoping for some good news but it's probably best just to stick with the memories.

again, I think we were trolled for amusement. its not a popular or common destination, in serious decline and the only way there was casual exposure was really cored around the 90s when construction forced/induced people to go past shamokin dam down 11/15 (boated that 2 decades ago, it could be pleasant, albeit shallow....)
