I would love to know how many employees of the mills actually live in Gary.

I'm sure there are some - but I would guess the majority live elsewhere.

After much thought I think i have the answer to how to fix Gary--Does the word HIROSHIMA bring a solution to mind?

You're absolutely right, what are the odds there will be jobs available in America's third largest city and one of the worlds leading business centers.

Nobody is going to tear down those mills unless they come up with big bucks to buy out US Steel.

Since US Steel owns most of the lakefront, it's going to take a ton of money to do it.
