I work in construction and there is plenty of work in trades here right now. Back to affordable housing, you might get the most for your money outside the I-275 loop. Check out Clermont County areas which you may find affordable, though like I said, prices have gone up there as well.

I recall your inquiries into a few cities during your quest to relocate from Florida, and I believe Toledo was a great choice in terms of what you were seeking. The 2nd tier Ohio cities Dayton, Akron, and Toledo still offer a good deal in terms of affordability, decent employment opportunities, legacy and other amenities, and services. Dayton is truly a gem.

Other than attending a big league sporting event or maybe a major concert there isn’t much else one would need in one of the close by 3 C’s or Detroit (other than the airport in the case of Toledo) that you can’t do or find in the more affordably priced 2nd tier cities.

Indeed Toledo is a bit underrated as a city, and I hope it works out for you.
