On second thought, you might want to wait on settling between these two suburbs. The new "Gateway" project is finally going into West Omaha. If you want "surban" (suburban + urban) living instead, while still living out in the suburbs, you may want to scratch Elkhorn and Papillion both. This just may be the place for you.

New major dynamic projects jump-starting, and finally springing forth, and forging on ahead... The bettering & building up of Omaha is something I am always happy to see happen.

This is great info and very exciting. We have more year in our lease here in Dundee and my husband is wanting to move to west Omaha to be closer to his office. I was sad to move to somewhere that felt totally suburban vs. urban. An area like this might be a good fit/compromise. It's not historic like downtown & Dundee and other neighborhoods but not as cookie cutter as most west O.

Just a side note. There is no more Elkhorn. The city ceased to exist in 2007. It's now just a neighborhood that is called Elkhorn. In the same way that there is no south omaha or Millard. All are just Omaha. Papillion however is a separate town.
