Thanks freedom, I think that is what we all need to do is see pictures of Oregon. It really does help. What a beautiful home you had. Of course I couldn't afford it.

The snow isn't that bad in your area, huh?

Thanks, we can only afford em for a couple yrs., then time to sell and build another.

The snow seems to be more each yr., we'll see if it plays out this yr. The kids love it, and its a great time to slow down and stoke the woodstove.
The old timers say that a couple feet a yr. on the valley floor was the norm in the 30's and 40's, but 6-8 inches is the most I've seen in 15 yrs. and it goes away in a day or two most of the time, though the last couple yrs. it stuck around for a week or two.

Its a good time to be planning your move, there is so much out there under 300k, and quite a few in the low 200's. If you like projects, even under 200's

best wishes
freedom

Default Hi Freedom

Haven't talked to you for a LONG time. When you rebuild, are you going to stay in GP? If you had a choice between GP, Medford and Ashland, where would you live for good? I am getting out of CA one way or another this summer. I haven't posted for quite some time. Just been soaking up all this info. Stay safe, skitow

Hi Skitow,

We are looking at a variety of areas, we can't say we have settled on one specifically. We've been on mountains for most of our time here, so the grass is greener concept seems to be calling us to prairie flat land. Gardens, livestock etc...
After spending the last couple months we seem to like 4 areas for that.
1. Eagle point (north of Medford)
2. Jerome Prairie (west of GP)
3. Williams (south of GP)
4. Phoenix foothills (southwest of Medford)

They are all within 15-20 min of downtowns. We have some good friendships in the GP area, so I think that may be a factor, for convienience.
Part of the challenge is that there are so many neat places to live here. Too many to pick from. Like which side of heaven do you want to live in....

best wishes,
freedom
