lived there for 2 years for school (uwf). Didn't like it there at all, from Niceville, and I drove home every single weekend

I agree, however, it wasn't my intention to say that the Pensacola economy is purely driven by the aging demographic.
Yes, I agree that the local economy is also driven by the military population here but that mostly affects those who are employed by the US Gov., that being a fraction of the population here. If the bases were to ever go away, which I know has been happening internationally, then Pensacola would be a dead zone.
IF one were to have an employment opportunity through the military here, I still wouldn't recommend the area but that individual would make enough money to not have to worry about getting by.

I don't think it is as bad as some of you guys make it out to be you got to learn to take the postives with the negatives. Panama City is an option but you would have to commute everyday to Pensacola which might not be favorable.

Panama City would be a 2.5 hour commute to Pensacola one way and it would just be stupid to do that for no good reason.

I've only heard that there's no abundance of jobs in PC. I've also heard that it's driven by tourism - low-paying wages in hospitality & restaurant.

I got an email asking if I was still interested in the job. Yikes. As luck would have it we're visiting the kids in the area. Not looking any better. One kiddo is in law enforcement. Yeah. Not liking it.

I lived in Pace for 13 years now in Milton. It's only 6 miles from my house in Pace. Most schools in Pace are A rated. They are usually 2nd in the state. Pace is a nice area with low crime.

Here in Pace at this very moment. Enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with 3 law enforcement families. They all cautioned against living in Pensacola. Pace seems nice. We went to a church a ways from here that was great. Something Pines Baptist... I was surprised to see all the agricultural properties.
