Sounds like SW Florida only with humidity. Since I've never lived in Arizona, I'm not sure which is worse, opening your front door to an oven or a sauna.

I did see a real photo yesterday of a child who was scalded from her parent hosing her down to cool her off, but of course the black hose had been laying out in the sun all day. Indeed, when I water flowers on days that are over 100, I can hardly touch the trigger and have to let it run for a bit before I turn it onto the flowers...unbelievably hot to the touch.

Some guys keep a towel for...activities. I keep a towel to shift my car in the summer. Rides shotgun all summer long.

The sun & heat are so intense in Phoenix ...

1. That "but it's a dry heat" doesn't mean anything.
2. That even Orlando, Houston, and New Orleans' muggy summers feel super nice in comparison.
3. That native Floridians are begging to be sent back to the mugginess of Orlando and Miami right after stepping off the plane at Sky Harbor.
4. That people actually look forward to muggy monsoon weather and rains to cool things off.

Speaking as a Michigan native (and having spent 28 of my 38 years in the Midwest) I prefer the Sonoran summer. I can remedy the heat with air conditioning, hats, hydration and going out at night. Humidity is a drag and there's the trade off of having an amazing "winter" here.

The ICE Officer asks you why you are coming from an equitorial place, known for being hellishly hot..you answer:. Had to get away from the heat for a few months.
