Leaves are beginning to turn in earnest..

I believe they are moose berries, also called high-bush cranberries. That's what a lady told me. She also said that these berries can be cooked until soft, and then turn into jam. However, I haven't seen any birds eating these berries, so I have no idea if the lady is correct.

These are the only photos I have been able to find where the berries are "close" to the ones we have posted, but i still have to ask at UAF to make sure the ones in our photos are in fact high (or low) bush cranberries:
