I just got on this site for today and found a rep from an old waterfall pic I took months ago. It got me looking at other threads and found this cemetary one. My family has lived in this old Maine farmhouse since 1889, built in 1850. I'm sitting upstairs looking out my window here and this is what I see.
Many relatives back there. My future outdoor bedroom too, I suppose.
It's always been there and it's odd to us that everyone doesn't get to be buried in their own back yard.
There's a story about my great grandfather who bought this place when in the late 1800's, he let a traveling gypsy family bury their infant child back there. Guess they were field hands among many talents I guess and when passing through, he offered them work at the farm for a spell. Our family has always kept some small headstone or remberance of this incidence. I think sis has something down there now. The town has already made their rounds to put flags on all the vets sites. Seems to be quite a few down there. Think I'll go take a count. I know my dad's got a flag.
