Your statue is very beautiful and interesting PhotogGal, can you give us any details on it. At first glance I thought it was Neptune, but I thought differently on closer examination.

I will see what I can find out, Hntr. I also have some photos showing closer views of individual parts of the statue, which I'll dredge up and post. It's most unusual, but then so are a lot of the statues along the Malecon in Puerto Vallarta.

I saved myself a lot of time and posted the photo and some questions on a message board about Puerto Vallarta figuring one of more people would have the definitive answer. A very knowledgeable person I know (but have never met) provided this answer:

It's "El Milenio" by Mathis Lidice (a pseudonym for Vallarta's Fernando Baños), installed in 2001 and includes three personages representing three millennia - Charlemagne, Netzahuacoyotl and a woman with a dove symbolizing the desire for equality.

I'll still try to find my closeups and post them as the detail is pretty amazing.
