I gotta say police aren't blameless. If you've ever seen them in a crowd control situation something seems to come over them and they go a little berserk and start bashing anybody and everybody. It's got to be possible to train them to get the job done without going postal on innocent bystanders.

Shame we didn’t see this police response at the Burnside police district.

Innocent bystanders should not be standing by a violent or unruly crowd. It’s called, or used to be called at least, common sense for those over age 9.

Zippy has no common sense who thought by posting a “press” sign she would be protected in the middle of a riot. Zippy is a dumb 44 year old dipsh!t yet, in our disconnected and empty social media driven culture, can actually get attention and sympathy as yet another victim.

Portland is a complete **** show and become a reminder to sane Americans as to why the far left is dangerous. The mayor of Portland who seems like an idiot is correct though, this only helps Trump. The anarchists need to be crushed.

Don't riot and you won't get bashed by police. What part of this concept is challenging for your brain?

From your article:

"Many are nervous about speaking out lest they lend ammunition to a conservative critique of the Black Lives Matter movement...."

Sounds like the woke morons didn't learn a thing. Oh well, better them than my neighborhood.

It gets better, again from your article:

"....The employees of Bergman’s Lock and Key say they were followed by demonstrators with baseball bats. Cure Cocktail, a local bar and charcuterie, said its workers were asked by protesters to pledge loyalty to the movement: “Are you for the CHOP or are you for the police?” they were asked, according to the lawsuit.

The business owners also found that trying to get help from the Seattle Police, who declined to comment for this article, made them targets of activists....."

"....Mr. McDermott and his 27-year-old son, Mason, raced over. A man who was inside the shop, Mr. McDermott said, had emptied the cash drawer and was in the midst of setting the building on fire. Mr. McDermott said he and his son wrestled the man down and planned to hold him until the police arrived. But officers never showed up. A group of several hundred protesters did, according to Mr. McDermott, breaking down the chain-link fence around his shop and claiming that Mr. McDermott had kidnapped the man...."

"Later, Mr. McDermott’s photo and shop address appeared on a website called Cop Blaster, whose stated aim is to track police brutality but also has galleries of what it calls “Snitches” and “Cop Callers.” The McDermotts were categorized as both of those things on the website, which warned they should “keep their mouths shut.”

Ahhhh, love is in the air, Seattle style, LOL.

The problem is that the mayor is also the police commissioner and he told them they are not allowed to prevent crime or do anything other than watch until it becomes a riot. That's why the police are either noninvolved or throwing teargas. We are in Portland. This fall for Mayor we have to choose between Ted Wheeler, total doormat but at least denounces violence, or Sarah Iannarone, who is self-proclaimed Antifa member and refuses to denounce violence saying she can't judge how people protest (even when directly asked about them blocking building exits then setting fires with people linside and "I'm not the one setting the fires" - total 5-year-old rationale

If a riot is going on and a person is standing nose to nose with the police, that is not an innocent bystanders. The innocent bystanders have all gotten out of the way by that time.

Right, not sure what's so difficult to understand. Setting fire and attacking police and public property is not a protest. It's anarchic rioting that needs to be stopped. These are not the actions of civilized people.

Unless you live in Portland, Seattle or NYC.

They see things a lot differently than most people.
