My wife and I are expecting another daughter in April and have decided to name her Emory June. We are looking for alternate spellings for Emory to make it more feminine. Was hoping to get others opinions I have a brain block right now. I have about 10 variations wrote down...wanted to see more.
I wouldn't go with an unusual spelling. My sister gave my niece a popular name with an unusual spelling (to make it more unique) and the poor kid gets upset b/c she can never find a personalized cup/toothbrush/barrette with her name on it, plus people outside of our family always misspell it.
Please stick to Emery, and not: Emmeree or M'Ery or Emaree. Emery will make her life so much easier

Yes. You can call her Emmy or Emmie and still spell her given name Emery, IMO. If James can be Jim and Edward can be Teddy, then Emery can be Emmy if that's what you are thinking of calling her as a nickname.
Basically, come up with the spelling you feel your child will have the most trouble learning to spell when she's young, so that all her classmates can make fun of her, and target her as a victim of their bullying.
And then, you can blame the teachers for not protecting your poor misspelled daughter (double bonus - you can blame them for not being able to spell her name right either).

If you love your daughter-to-be, you will make her name something that people won't constantly question or criticize her spelling over.
In the world of e-mail, e-bay, and e-filing your taxes, the idea of Emarie is pretty cruel. I don't know why you'd want to take a name that's already spelled just fine, and change it. Emery is a lovely old name. If you feel it's too old, don't just change the spelling - because it'll still be pronounced Emery. Instead, find a different name.
Lol thank you Anon. We have narrowed it down to Emerie and Emarie. I personally liked Emoreigh but I was out voted lol still looking for variations.
You do realize she will be called Ee-Marie all her life don't you? Why do parents do this to children. Not only are you giving her an odd name, then you make it worse by giving it a unique spelling that no one will be able to remember and she will be called the wrong name all of her life .
If you go with Emoreigh she will be Ee More Ree
