My timing is getting faster, update after a month. well 1.5 months but lot happened in that time.

I did get my hysteroscopy done with my OBGYN. She found a "fluff"/debris, very small polyps. She would not have put me under surgery for this but specialist will not touch a patient with any possible obstacles, so had to be done. I was put to sleep for first time in my life & I got strep throat 2 days later most likely from the breathing tube they used. Hospitals are filthy.

Then saw my specialist to go over the blood work I did almost 6 months ago + all the other workup.
  • I have very low AMH (egg reserve at 0.25). For a 34 years old, I have egg of 45+ year old Because of this, doc recommended IVF especially if we want more than one kid. My FSH (rate of losing egg) was normal so I could stay at this AMH for long time or it could go down. I did read online that sometimes it goes up but not by much. This might be my main issue
  • I also have slightly high TSH. It was much higher few years ago at 4 something. Since I started taking Vitamin D the number reduced to half. But the doc prefers below 2.5 and I measured 2.75 almost 6 months ago. I don't take my Vitamin D everyday but here and there I do. I am sure in 6 months my number has improved bit more. The training doctor suggested re-doing my blood work to check TSH again but main doctor wrote me prescription for low dose of thyroid medication & get TSH checked in 3 weeks. I don't feel comfortable taking drugs & I should have insisted on retest but oh well. My family has history of thyroid medication and diabetics, so not a surprise
  • My long term glucose is high but my fasting glucose is good. They told me to go on low carb diet which to me means no more junk food for start. I am so disappointed in my weight. Instead of losing weight, I have been gaining weight & my diet has been screwed up
Next step, once thyroid level is under control: Start clomid with IUI/sex or jump straight to IVF.

I don't know, IVF sounds too intense for my lazy self & I wonder how much docs push IVF because of money. But the success rate is there and I already lost over a year just dragging my feet. Plus the less intensive route (IUI/Pills/acupuncture) add up cost & if I need IVF eventually that's just adding to cost and time. For now, we will see.

4 months later update because I forgot about this post. Picking up from last post..

Few days before my 3 week check up on thyroid level after taking 25mg of Levothyroxine, I found out I am pregnant. I got blood work done for pregnancy and thyroid at same time. My thyroid jumped from below 2 to high 4. Doc told me to double up on my thyroid med and scheduled ultrasound. Because of my last experience with pregnancy and multiple ultrasound, I tried pushing my ultrasound as much as I can.

It was too much of dejavu because I got pregnant in JUN, just like my last one. We had a trip planned to Smokey Mountains, last time I was pregnant we had hiking trip plan for up north Michigan. This time I cancelled my trip the week off & rested a lot. I had intense cramps for days and at 6 weeks exactly after I attended a family wedding, where I did dance a bit ... I started bleeding. I called the doctor for ultrasound even thought I was schedule 4 days later, they fit me in and we found out I am losing the baby. 2nd miscarriage but at least I got pregnant 2x. This miscarriage was emotionally tougher for both of us because its more than statistic now.

the 3 months prior to me getting pregnant, I did bi weekly acupuncture, took the thyroid medication & took a Chinese pregnancy tea (which I think is just red raspberry). I don't know if those helped or it was just a number game. I get lucky (pregnant) every 2 years exactly & I will have to wait another 2 years to get lucky again (I am old for that game). I gave my body 3 months to recover from miscarriage & now I am at a crossroad to decide what to do now. Make a move toward ovulation stimulator or go redo all the natural stuff that helped. They say 3 month is max you should try something.

I'm sorry for your loss. Miscarriages suck! I really doubt the dancing had anything to do with it. It was probably either not a viable fetus or you have a disease/syndrome that requires more medicine to hold on to a pregnancy.

Now that you've had two early miscarriages, you can ask for genetic testing to find out if you have one of the blood clotting disorders that create a high risk for early miscarriages. Many doctors will wait until you have had 3 miscarriages to suggest these tests, but I'd highly recommend you ask now. Why put yourself through more pain if there's a medical answer waiting for you?

If you do have one (I have Factor V Leiden), you will have to give yourself blood thinner shots in the belly every day while you are pregnant. This sounds scary at first, but it's totally worth it if you really want a baby.

I have had 5 early miscarriages out of 6 pregnancies. I didn't know about my clotting disorder for the first 3 (you may remember I also have PCOS and no thyroid). #4 and #5 were an empty sac and a chemical (so the blood thinner made no difference). Pregnancy #6 brought us our beautiful 8 month old miracle baby. I'm so, so, so grateful now that I didn't give up, but that's a very personal decision as to how much pain/uncertainty you can take.

I'll also suggest to you again that you add 200mg of CoQ-10 to your daily supplement regimen, and prenatal vitamins if you aren't already.
