This season is done for the Packers. They need to improve the defense big time if they want to be at the top next year. And if they could get rid of Ryan Grant and get a real running back, that would help a lot too.
Okay so as of now we draft 11th. Who should we take with the 1st pick. Also it looks like the Jets make the playoffs so we get another 2nd round pick, so positions we should address with the two 2nd rounders.

Defense first. Michael Johnson of Georgia Tech if he's available. There are a lot of good first round-quality DEs. Or I'd like Michael Jenkins (Ohio State) at CB if he falls out of the Top 10. We do not need an offensive skill player right now. Yes, getting a better running back sounds like the thing to do, but it's not the top priority. Fix the defense, then the offensive line, then either Grant makes plays or you find another running back. In the second round there are a lot of DBs and OLs. Basically the best one available (not the best player overall). It's time to fill some specific holes, not just collect talent.
I just hope Thompson doesn't ********** up, or that he's the first to go this preseason.

I would not mind that pick at all, he would be a great compliment to Kampman. With the 2nd rounders, I agree I would look for a OL who can actually block. Then either a good CB or a BIG DT. I think the major problem with our defense is losing Cory Williams, for Brian I got beat out by a 7th round draft pick, Brohm.
i remember several years ago when all of the Chicago Bears' rivals selected new coaches and i could not have been happier!
Packers: Mike McCarthy
Lions: Rod Marinelli
Vikings: Brad Childress
None of them had previous head coaching experience and I knew as soon as the news broke that Chicago's rivals would never do anything with either of those coaches. to this day, all 3 need to upgrade. all 3 are holding them back. especially, MM and Conservative Chilly.
The Packers were a field goal away from the Super Bowl last year. You call that not doing anything?
I think McCarty is a good coach. He isnt perfect but he has done a great job of turning that team around. The Packers were bound to have an off year this year being that they lost their leader of 16 years.
What happened to the Pack. I thought they were a bet the house lock vs Texans.
