I've been there many times over the last fifty years. Still a nice place to stop for coffee and apple pie or a doughnut and stretch your legs. It's all in good fun.
Wall Drug is interesting to see, once. After all it is just a big tourist trap. A guy I used to work with said he always used to stop there on the way to Rapid to get the maple donuts.

I have passed by 4-5 times, since the first in 1970 on a cross country road trip at age 19, but have never stopped. I remember about every mile seeing a sign and eventually it becomes obnoxious, so I intentionally drove right by.
Spouse just had to see it. We were actually staying at a very nice hotel in Wall while exploring the Badlands. I walked the dogs while he went in & bought a t-shirt. I guess it’s a old-school version of a Buc-ee’s.

Those darn signs are everyplace. I remember on my first trip to Europe when I walked out of Central Station in Amsterdam there was a Wall Drug sign.
Living in South Dakota I have driven by there countless times but have never stopped.
When I was in elementary school, I wrote a play that opened with Columbus heading for the New World because he passed one of the signs in the Atlantic and wanted free ice water.
Nooooooo!!! It's a quirky fun place for a short visit! We stayed in some cabins on the other side of the highway during our visit to The Badlands and we got a real kick out of Wall Drug! The billboard signs cracked us up... "free ice water!" Do they still have coffee for a nickel? Maybe it's a dime now with inflation.
I regret not checking out Wall Drug when I stopped nearby. I only had time to get food at the nearby cafe, which was nice. Maybe someday soon....
