Hi,

I'm planning a move to Reno from the Portland OR area and I'm apartment hunting online, mainly in the SW neighborhoods. All my life I've lived in hotel-like apartment houses with a central entranceway where you either need a key to enter the bldg or you have to be buzzed in by a tenant. They weren't luxury bldgs but in fact were rather humble. However, all l I'm finding online are apartment houses more like motels where anyone can go up the stairs to the rooms. Granted, I've been looking at cheaper places because I live alone and don't need much space. Fwiw, I work from home so I don't have to be too close to downtown or the commercial districts. For reasons of safety I'd prefer the hotel type of apartment house. Does Reno not have the type of apartment of house I've described, outside of the pricier range?

Thanks,
Lloyd

There’s 4 condo buildings close to Virginia lake that have the inside hallways. Some owners rent them out. For example look at Lakeside Plaza condos. They are difficult to find in apartments. Also condos downtown have what you want but they will be more expensive.
