I haven't lost power at all either but everyone I talked to, both locally and in other cities have been without power all day.

I did have one pipe bust open despite the fact I did wrap it prior to the freeze. Had to go to Lowes to get parts to close it off temporarily. I was surprised that Lowes was open but it was operating on a skeleton crew and just about everyone there was in plumbing section. It looked like black friday sale for faucets and pipes.

Driving to Lowes is what usually takes about 5 mins but it was like 25 mins today because a lot of the roads were blocked off.

CPS power in South Bexar County outside of the city limits has been on all day. No black outs or rolling outages in this area.

I don't understand why the rolling outages are necessary now but not in the heat of August. In the summer time all homes and businesses in San Antonio (and South and Central Texas for that matter) have their AC on day and night for months at a time yet for some reason the grid can't handle people's heaters being on for a few days... go figure.

Lots of bitter people on my social media who can see the downtown SA skyline illuminated tonight (including those new CPS towers) but yet paying customers have been without power since this afternoon or longer.

It takes way more energy to heat by 60 degrees from electrical furnaces than it does to cool by 30 from ACs. And those skyscrapers have emergency backup generators.

We are near 1604 @ Culebra, we had no power for 22 hours yesterday. Thankfully we are back running.

I would have gone to a motel, but didn't want to pack up our pets and worry about busted pipes.

It was 46 in my house when the heat came on.

I know some neighborhoods in that vicinity have been out since Sunday night.

That's exactly where they are. Ugh. I wish there was something I could do from my power-filled apartment here in Austin. There's no way they could get up here safely. (Or everyone would fit, but still)

If they need anything...water, food, etc., I'd be glad to take them what they need. I'm not far away.
