Free or cheap parking for tourists. Maybe use some of the vacant lots within a mile or so of the Alamo and run free shuttles to and from the lots.

From your mouth to god's ears. GrayStreet should be limited from continuing to buy land and just let it sit and rot, many of the parcels with abandoned buildings on them. Huge eyesores as they don't maintain many of their lots. They own a lot of the Broadway to Alamo Heights corridor.

You're also spot on that they don't seem to have the capital to actually build. The last decade, they simply buy, hold and flip. They make huge promises and produce renderings, but nothing happens.

Weston clearly has the money. He's the real deal.

Tourists don't rent a lot of cars in this city.

And parking is already cheap.

If you can't afford $5 to park at Pearl, you likely can't afford to be at Pearl.

The Pearl is not downtown.

I know of a place that has free parking between social spot (the bar) and downtown. It’s a solid 5 minute walk to downtown. I get why somebody might not want to make the walk and I do agree the fact that every place is pretty much $20 or higher is absolutely ridiculous.

There are some nice 1968 hemisfair videos on youtube that show downtown having a lot of nice things (paddleboats included) such as a monorail that went around downtown area.

It seemed like San Antonio took too many steps backwards by removing a lot of the hemisfair attractions. I understand that some of the attractions could not stay obviously but why was the monorail removed? That would have been a great tourist attraction to get around downtown.
