I am trying to find information about underground pipelines running through an area in Bexar County previously called Live Oak Estates in Universal City, TX. I remember some small signs indicating the presence of an underground oil or gas pipeline on the streets called Cimarron Trail and Wagon Crossing. I do not see those signs any longer. I would like to hear from anyone who remembers these signs or know what/where/when these pipelines were placed/used/capped/abandoned/removed. I remember a yard which had to be dug up and something was done maybe 20 feet down. I think the company was called MYCOM. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

There are gas pipelines all over the place in this part of SA; many of them are 70+ years old.

If there was a pipeline, it (almost always) would've required an easement, which would have been recorded in the Bexar County public records. Generally speaking, if a pipeline is removed, the easement is released, as well (and that is also a document that is recorded in BCPR). Keep in mind that some older easements were not specifically defined with regards to their location.

Default Reasons--

A 12' gas, electric, and telephone easement runs the length of the property on 2 sides. It still shows on a survey. There is an in-ground pool that is in 2-3 feet of the easement. The pool has lifted just recently maybe 4-5 inches. We were also concerned about an area approximately 30' in diameter that will not grow any grass. This is not in any of the easement but is over the area which had been dug up approximately 8-9 years ago. They sodded the area and it had grass for a few years, but has not had anything grow there for a long time. The rest of the yard has decent growth even over the easements. I don't know who to contact or what to ask. Any suggestions?

Wow... that's a lot of lift. Maybe the appraisal district would know who the owner of the easement is. That's my only guess, because somebody would have to own the easement.
