And if it does, Centex is responsible for all of those. So sorry to hear about this. Anyone who lives in that area has my profound sympathy. Nothing worse than buying a beautiful new home and then something like this happens and you can't even get back in to retrieve anything if your home is directly affected or in danger.

It's going to be interesting to see how those "builder, arbitration mandated-no sue, contracts" apply in this case.

Here's an aerial view of the area from Bing (MS Maps). Click on Aerial and then Bird's eye view.

Thanks Bowie for the coordinates.

So no one can sue, right?

From MySA's article:

Quote:
"he noticed the ground behind his 3-month-old home in the 8300 block of Valley Well had shifted down several inches Friday, and he called the home builder."

" “I was told that I wasn't watering enough,” he said.

Is that DeZavala or S Hausman?? And isn't S Hausman road just south of Stinson middle school always under construction because of the natural flow of flood water? This flow of water runs right along Ranchwell Cove. Well it USED to anyway. Very poor planning. I am sorry for the families who are actually living this nightmare.

Here is the map that I looked at:
pearl lagoon, helotes, texas - Google Maps

Actually, the landslide is on the curve on the southern end of Treewill Glen, just a tad south of the 'A' on this map.

To get to this neighborhood you have to take Kyle Seale north from Prue then Rock Mist to Arbor Mesa. If you look at the aforementioned map, the retaining wall that is failing is just north of the trees along Arbor Mesa.

It amuses me that the city rescue services are worried about people going into the houses that are being threatened, but they have/had numerous heavy machines on the uphill side of the problem. All that weight and vibration cannot be helping the situation, and if we get any rain this week (30% chance on Thursday), then there will be an even greater risk of a slide...

What an awful mess! I feel sorry for all of the homeowners affected by this. Thanks Bowie for the information. The following is the latest story from local WOAI, this morning.

Thanks for the info. I was trying to picture exactly where it was.
