Robert Stark interviews Korezaan about Transit & Urbanism - The Stark Truth With Robert Stark

Essay focuses on all the flaws on BART but primarily of interest has maps that show all the under utilized space around the stations.

Long and mostly ridiculous. Author doesn't seem to understand the difference between BART and Muni. Why would he expect to find high rises in Walnut Creek? It's a far flung suburb.

Yes, but there's no reason for there to be massive parking lots and strip malls there either. Maybe mix-use mid rises is realistic. By the Walnut Creek BART there isn't even a pedestrian crossing at California and Main.

Yup, we could have reasonable density at the suburban BART stations. 4-6 stories of mixed use would be helpful. And some stations aren't designed for non drivers to use them. Which of course encourages more traffic.

Yeah whole blog is riduculous. Lots of left wing "why me" economic griping mixed with complaints about "feminazis" and other cultures mxed with autistic rants about anime. Also pulls out the classic internet trope of the subtle suicide threat. Its like the worst of the far left and the alt right had a merger.

Not disagreeing that BART is a mess, but this misanthropic incel is probably the worst spokesperson for the cause.

Basically the gist of this "blog" is BART sucks because it's not like MTR in Hong Kong. And Walnut Creek along with the rest of America sucks because it's not like Hong Kong either.

Hong Kong has something like 8 times the density of SF. Not saying SF should turn into Hong Kong but there should not be areas that have massive parking lots and strip malls which for all over the the Bay Area outside of SF and near BART stations. LA is even worse.
