Anyone know why there are so many Canadian street names in Sunnyvale? Here are some I saw while driving through: Quebec, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Prince Edward, Richelieu, and Yukon. Nice to see reminders of home... But wonder why?

LOL, there's an area on McLaughlin Avenue and Capitol Expressway in San Jose where all the streets are named after Lord of the Rings places/characters, even the horse Shadowfax

My old neighborhood in Newark had nothing but English-themed street names...Scarborough, Windermere, Newcastle, etc.

Each of Sunnyvale's major developments has streets that share a common theme or a pair of themes.

Another area has streets named after birds N-S and ones named after places in the British Isles E-W.

Several other themes/paired-themes are found in the various areas.

You should see Dublin, CA!

Shamrocks are on every street sign.

Lots of different themes for street-naming in San Jose (San Pepe to some locals)
