The best restaurants to eat outside in North Port, according to Yelp

For the full list:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/foodanddri...&ei=30#image=8

"Globally, many people may have associated the outdoor dining experience with the cafes of European cities or street food stalls in Asia. Travelers and locals alike often spend hours sipping coffee and eating delicious and cheap food. In the U.S., outdoor seating can take the form of small tables, semi-private nooks, or communal-style seating for the masses, like at a beer garden. Key to a good outdoor table is shade from the sun and, in urban settings, walls or barriers that can cut down on fumes and noise from nearby car traffic.

Restaurants may also play up other perks—like having a great view. The coronavirus pandemic also increased demand for outdoor heaters so restaurants could keep serving meals outside in the colder seasons. All these adjustments have led to more Americans rediscovering the pleasures of dining al fresco, away from the noise inside.

While a good chunk of pandemic-era outside seating may have shrunk back since the return to "normal," many restaurants still have their prized patio tables ready for patrons. Stacker compiled a list of the highest-rated restaurants with outdoor seating in North Port using data from Yelp. Rankings factor in the average rating and number of reviews. Keep reading to see if your favorite spot made the list."

This upscale restaurant with craft cocktails is creating a buzz on Bradenton Beach

For the full review:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/foodanddri...74d0e9d2&ei=31

Salt Bar & Table created quite the buzz when it opened in Bradenton Beach in mid-February.

That's not so unusual in the Bradenton area, where any new restaurant stirs a lot of interest among foodies and anyone looking for a new place to eat.

Interest in Salt Bar & Table, 2519 Gulf Drive N., had something extra in that it replaced Sharky's Seagrill, which had served meals and drinks at that spot for more than two decades.

So, what's changed? The short answer is virtually everything.

Salt Bar & Table brought out a new menu, actually a couple of new menus, and a new look, thanks to an extensive renovation.

"Come and experience a new level of indulgence at our bar. We offer a wide selection of carefully crafted cocktails, ice-cold beers, and premium wines, as well as mouth-watering food that perfectly complements your drink of choice," the restaurant website says.

"Whether you're looking for a casual night out with friends or a romantic evening with your special someone, we've got you covered. Join us for a night of fun, relaxation, and pure enjoyment," the website says.

Salt had a cautious, soft opening in February, general manager Steven Sipos said.

"We wanted to make sure that the kitchen staff was prepared and could handle the crowd," he said.

Nancy's Bar-B-Q is moving from Lakewood Ranch back to downtown Sarasota

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/na...aca8679e&ei=35

Jun. 20—LAKEWOOD RANCH — Nancy Krohngold, who launched her barbecue business in 2011 in downtown Sarasota before moving Nancy's Bar-B-Q to Lakewood Ranch in 2016, is returning to Sarasota.

Since 2019, Nancy's Bar-B-Q has been serving platters at 14475 State Road 70 E., Lakewood Ranch, also known as Lorraine Corners.

"We couldn't reach an agreement to extend our lease," Krohngold said Tuesday of the return to Sarasota. "In business you can't sit around, and I still have a loyal following down there."

Krohngold announced the change on the Nancy's Bar-B-Q Facebook page.

"Our last day of business at our Lorraine Corners Lakewood Ranch store will be Saturday, July 8, and we expect to open our doors downtown the week after that at 1525 Fourth Street, in the Rosemary District, next door to Food+Beer and across from Station 400 Sarasota," she said in the post.

New restaurant on Holmes Beach is a coffee cafe by day, beer and wine bar by night

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/real...0e2e4db7&ei=42

Jun. 22—HOLMES BEACH — Fifty Three Fifty The Pourhouse is a self-described cafe by day, and a beer and wine bar by night.

"We offer a selection of coffee and espresso drinks with fresh pastries and breakfast. In the evening, we have a wide selection of wine and local beers, with an evening pour dinner menu," the company website says.

Owner Brian Mathae opened Fifty Three Fifty The Pourhouse, 5350 Gulf Drive, in March a year ago, and poured a lot of his personality, tastes and sense of fun into the new business.

It shows in the relaxed, happy atmosphere among guests and staff alike.

"We're a bit of a niche business," Mathae, 58, says.

A good place to start with The Pourhouse menu is the early eats portion: everything from avocado toast to brown sugar banana French toast to a smoked salmon bagel to the What Came First Quesadilla. The What Came First is so named because it contains chicken and egg, get it?

The Pourhouse is open 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week, serving food 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5-10 p.m.

Beer and wine are served 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

One of best waterfront restaurants in Sarasota, Bradenton now even better

For the full review:

https://www.msn.com/en-us/travel/tri...905cf272&ei=24

"Gaze southward, and you can see the downtown Sarasota skyline in the distance. However, you might as well be a thousand miles away, nestled here in the historic commercial fishing village of Cortez. Surrounded by working docks and pristine mangroves, gray pelicans and blue herons, leaping mullet and frolicking dolphins, the experience is truly transformative.

Indeed, Cortez is an oasis of Old Florida charm boasting some of the best seafood and waterfront restaurants in the state. Among these cherished dining spots, there is one establishment that has emerged as an even more alluring destination in recent months. With the arrival of summer, it is the perfect time to visit Swordfish Grill, which now features a sprawling new tiki bar and covered back patio offering spectacular views of north Sarasota Bay. Moreover, the restaurant serves some of the finest fresh catches in the region, making it an ideal choice for seafood enthusiasts.

Owned by Cortezian John Banyas, Swordfish Grill opened in 2011. In recent years, my experiences have been among the best I've had, thanks, I believe, to new management. After an excellent visit during the start of stone crab season in October, I took a break from Swordfish and many other waterfront favorites until the end of tourist season. When I returned to Swordfish earlier this month, I was pleasantly surprised to find a sprawling new roof covering the tiki bar and back patio area, which features live music most evenings, while offering gorgeous views of north Sarasota Bay."

Swordfish Grill is at 4628 119th St. W., Cortez. For more information, call 941-798-2035 or visit swordfishgrillcortez.com.

Get crackin' on the best lobster rolls in Sarasota and Manatee counties

For the full reviews:

https://www.yourobserver.com/news/20...asota-manatee/

"As a native New Englander, during this time of year, I start really start missing the place I will forever call home. Between the Northern summer weather (sans humidity and afternoon tsunamis), chasing fireflies even in my 30s and eating the nation's best lobster rolls with my sister.

My younger sister, Maddie, is a lobster enthusiast — to put it mildly. She rates the buns, lobster meat and overall experience on her Instagram page, called Ladies Who Lobster.

In honor of Maddie's upcoming birthday celebration, I put on my thinking cap and eating bib and turned into a lady who lunches on lobster, and I found the best luxurious summer seafood sandwiches in Sarasota and Manatee counties.

Let’s get crackin’."

National restaurant chain to open downtown Sarasota location

https://www.heraldtribune.com/story/...n/70351234007/

A national restaurant chain offering gourmet toasts, bowls, juices and smoothies will soon expand to downtown Sarasota.

Toastique plans to open at 10 S. Lemon Ave. Suite C in The Mark (where tapas restaurant Beso also recently opened) by late July, said director of operations and training Sean Keefe. It will be the first Sarasota-Manatee location for Toastique, which is based in Washington, D.C. and has stores across multiple states, with one Florida location currently open in the Orlando area and more planned. The restaurant's expansion was recently profiled by Forbes, which also named Toastique founder Brianna Keefe, Sean's sister, to its 30 Under 30 — Food & Drink list.

Toastique features a variety of its namesake toasts including an Avocado Smash; 3 Cheese Italian with prosciutto; Smoked Salmon; Greek with hummus, feta and vegetables; Tomato Burrata; Peanut Butter Crunch; Tuscan Tuna; and Spicy Crab.

The menu also features bowls including the PB+B (peanut butter, blueberry and banana), Dragonberry (dragonfruit, strawberry, goji berry and other fruit) and the Mango Tango (mango, pineapple, coconut and strawberry.) For beverages, Toastique features numerous cold-pressed juices and smoothies, as well as various coffee, espresso and latte options.

Toastique's Sarasota location, which will offer both indoor and patio seating, plans to be open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. daily, Keefe said. For more information on Toastique, visit:

Ocean Prime is coming to Sarasota

https://www.bizjournals.com/tampabay...-sarasota.html

Ocean Prime, which has had a Tampa presence for over a decade, has signed a deal to open a restaurant in Sarasota.

Ohio-based Cameron Mitchell Restaurants said Tuesday that it will open Ocean Prime at The Quay, a mixed-use waterfront district near downtown Sarasota, in late 2024. The restaurant has signed a lease for a two-story, 9,500-square-foot location with over 350 seats, two bars and two private dining rooms. Each floor will have an outdoor terrace.

Ocean Prime is known for its steak and seafood selections as well as its cocktail menu.

Mitchell opened The Pearl in Water Street Tampa earlier this year. Both Water Street and The Quay are anomalies for the company; Mitchell said previously that he typically shies away from brand-new developments. The Quay, in Sarasota’s Arts and Culture district, spans 15 acres and includes condominiums and upscale retail and dining.
