And I would recommend to experience different cultures; so go ahead and move to Savannah, and ignore the ignorant people who hate newcomers.

I'm just not sure Savannah's culture will really measure up. Meh, whatever. Come or don't come. I just think you could do better.

Maybe she's going to be happy costwise. Sometimes the cost is more important than a bunch of celebrities around.

im not worried about the culture shock, im worried about getting robbed. im going to experience culture shock no matter where i go, rural california is unlike anywhere i have ever been. my fear is moving to a place where i am always scared of getting robbed, etc.
also what does rent run? i mean for a decent place that is in a decent neighborhood?

You will always need to be on your guard.

There's a fair chance you will be a victim of some sort of crime if you live in or around the historic district for an extended amount of time. Usually it's just a car break in. Other times you will be hassled on the street for spare change. Burglaries are not uncommon. I know several people who have been robbed at gunpoint. I'm acquainted with one person who was shot and is now permanently in a wheelchair.

It's crazy but it is true. Many, many people live in the historic district who only experience one of the minor crimes. A few unfortunate ones have had worse experiences. If you focus on the negative aspects of living here, you might as well stay home. It is a wonderful city.

I believe you've already been convinced that SCAD's the place for you. Maybe it is. There are several thousand kids just like you. Maybe you should ask people at the school what they think and what measures they go to to protect their students.

Rents range from a room in a shared apartment in an iffy neighborhood for about $350 on up to about $1000 for a nice place in a nice area by yourself. There are plenty of options in between.

Traveling from Savannah up to my home in South Carolina often was a challenge to pass thru the bottle neck plus stop signs BEFORE DARK! My Tybee Island visits quickly became day trips only! My boss was a member of The Daughters Of The Confederacy. All that being said, I STILL LOVE IT THERE ANYWAY!

Default funny

i hear everyone talking about crime in savannah so I looked at the crime stats there Savannah, GA Crime Map - Showing Crimes in Savannah - Crime Statistics, Alerts and Reports - Crime Stops Here and thought that's pretty bad compared to nyc new York New York, NY Crime Map - Showing Crimes in New York - Crime Statistics, Alerts and Reports - Crime Stops Here maybe I will just stay here, where everyone who lives here wants to work and do something with there lives. because if they don't they cant afford to live here.

What's the significance of your boss having been a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy? Did her qualifying ancestor come back and haunt your office or something?
