IT WAS ON FRIDAY! How did you know?!

Again tonight for the second time, I ate at La Nopalera on Mall Blvd across from Belk -- my new favorite Mexican place in town! Excellent food, superb margaritas, best chile relleno I've ever eaten (chile rellenos being the standard by which I judge all Mexican restaurants)!

And if you need any further convincing: we went there early for happy hour (about 4:30) and the restaurant was full of MEXICAN FAMILIES HAVING DINNER! It doesn't get more authentic than that!

I've heard that it was the bees knees. Glad to know you like it too. I'm never in the neighborhood at dinner time, but soon, hopefully soon.

Good to hear that this one is good. I had lunch at the one in Bluffton once and it was not very good at all.

I find the same thing with the Jalapeños chain. Some are OK, some are just awful. Wonder why that is?

Default West Wing Cafe

Off of Wright Sq. I guess they are owned by the same folks as Corleones. I ate lunch there this week and had the Italian Beef Platter. It was good. Pizza and the usual suspects. Nothing fancy, but perfectly fine.

It's like a steak sandwich on a good bun and all the juice from the meat soaks into the bun. Then they put hot or regular peppers and onions on it and serve it with french fries. Such a petite lunch. I could barely waddle back to work.

What you need to lnow about Zunzi's... If you get the Conquistadore to go, they put the sauces in little separate tubs. No good. Even if you get it to go, tell them to put the sauces on it. The sauces need to soak into the chicken. Also, there is a proportion thing about the sauces that is different if you get it to go.

Good points, Gentlearts. I've noticed this trend with a LOT of restaurants and to-go items. Once I got a to-go salad from an (unnamed) restaurant and EVERY topping was in a seperate little plastic cup! I asked for a salad TO GO ... Not one to ASSEMBLE YOURSELF!!! Lol
