Any ideas on how long it should take to hear either way? Emailed the recruiter as I was supposed to hear something today or last Friday, but he hasn't gotten back to me yet. Do they usually follow up with the rejections rather swiftly?

They have to get everyone together to discuss comments so schedules can be a little crazy in that regard. I would give it another day and then call the recruiter.

Verio, I sincerely hope you get this job, but my experience has been these private companies (small or big) tend to make decisions relatively fast, and they tend to leave you in a limbo if you don't get chosen. It depends on the people who interviewed you though.
Let us know how Amazon responds to your employment search.

I was just informed that Amazon wishes to schedule 3rd phone interview. From my research, it seems after two phone interviews they usually bring the candidate onsite if they are still interested in the candidate. Should I read anything into their desire to have another phone interview?

By the way, I'm absolutely thrilled that I am still being considered!

Don't read into it... hell, don't read into your in-person interview either. I thought it went really well, and then got a phone call saying I wasn't selected. The odd thing is, I have an "in" who spoke with one of the interviewers, who said they were inclined to hire. Not sure what happened, but oh well

Verio, sorry to hear that you weren't hired. You're right, there's no use in trying to figure out what's going on. I guess the only thing to do is to do one's best. By the way, I'm trying to get a product management position.

A 3rd PHONE interview??? To me, that sounds like they are that much careful and selective in who to choose for bringing in for an in-house interview. However, you could say you are making it through the screening process and making it into the pool of candidates that is getting smaller with each stage.

Still waiting to hear back from Amazon after 3rd interview which took place this past Monday (four days ago). How long does it usually take for Amazon HR to contact the candidate to begin arrangements for an onsite interview?

2-3 days. If you don't hear back by mid week next week, forget about it.
