That is a great piece of information. It is almost as if the government wants inflation.
Why? Because it gives the false impression that the economy is expanding. What will wind up happening is the devaluation of the dollar with incredible unemployment.

It is a forgone conclusion in my book.

My bunker is in foreign stocks, gold, and certain investments not touchable by uncle sam. Better than any millennium bunker that could be made.

Those investments will be fine, as long as international trade is not affected. But if flying feces fling off fan blades, you'd be better served by a 24 month supply of necessities, tucked away in your larder.

I have many months of that too, just no "millenium shelter" (e.g. bomb shelter). The physical and offshore gold are there purely as a SHTF scenario.

If the SHTF anything not in your basement will be lost and it is most likely your basement will be looted ads well. The most useful thing would be the skill to build or grow something after the crash. Remember real wealth is mined, manufactured or grown. Not just manipulated and concentrated in the hands of the few.

I don't doubt that some would boobytrap their stash and kill those who try to lay claim to their possessions. If SHTF, those are considered free kills and you likely won't be prosecuted. Once word gets around that Mr. JoeSixPack is not the person you want to rob, well...

If I may correct your rhetoric... It's not wealth that you want, it's prosperity.
Prosperity is based on the creation of usable surplus goods and services; that are traded and transported, so that more can enjoy them.

Unfortunately, the parasites of socialist government have burdened the body politic for 3 generations, and have just about killed the host.

I disagree with your last sentence. The host has been killed by monopolies distorting truly free markets for the benefit of the few at the cost to the many.

I mean in a country of around 300 million (!) people we can only have THREE major auto manufacturers? We should have closer to thirty with all of them engaged in price competition. This economy has been oligopolized and ruined by the “free” marketers. This is not capitalism it is near monopoly. Then these monopolists have arranged to place the tax burden on the people that can least afford taxes and eliminated taxes for themselves.
