Family Dollar and Dollar Tree have the same owner, but they operate as separate names. That was the dig from Dollar General “you two drove here together”.

Family Dollar is overpriced, IMO; esp. their food. Dollar General has better prices. But of course both are more expensive than Dollar Tree.
