what about the KoKoMo on Mansfield Road. I remember driving around and around and around looking and waiting to be looked at. And they delivered Hamburgers back then too!

What was the name of that drive in place in Cedar Grove on Linwood. It was almost on the corner of Linwood and 70th?

Anyone else remember the watermelon gardens on Greenwood Road? It was fantastic in the summers when it was so hot? You could sit at the tables and eat a big slice of cold watermelon, and they would hose down the tables afterwards. This was in the 50s.

There was also another newstand around Lousiaina ave near Milam called Goodman news I think.

Now with all the businesses gone downtown, there is literally nothing down there outside of offices for blocks.

I think that was Gilmore's News, it was next to a shoe store. It was next to Newt's Cafe, I use to eat at Newt's for lunch, and go to the Gilmore's afterwards. There also was a Lacy's and Pano's(?) lunch places on Milam.

When I moved to Shreveport in 1978, the downtown area was still active. There was Lodestro's Clothing store that I loved, several restaurants/cafe's.
