Rant: Yes, but, OMG the MOSQUITOES and GNATS this year are terrible! And a lot of corn fields in SE SD are under water and crops ruined for the year. They are saying beans may survive better.
For the first time ever the gas prices in Brookings match the price of that "Flying" gas station in Sioux Falls and most sioux falls stations. It's been told to me by locals that one particular individual who is wealthy sets the gas prices and that if anyone tries to under cut him, he'll simply lower them more and run at a loss to run them out of business, thus everyone in Brookings always has the same prices, which tend to be 15-25 cents higher than Sioux Falls, and even 10 cents higher than Volga which is just to the west.
For some reason they are all cheaper and match Sioux Fall's prices right now. Very strange. Personally I'd like to see some of the "good ole boy" elements that run this town booted to the curb. They aren't as strong as they were in the past I've been told.
