A DSLR camera and some fancy lenses are on the wish list this year, but I suspect ye olde point-and-shoot will have to serve a while longer. This place is a photography playland.

Kbat - those pictures are simply gorgeous. Hubby and I just sat and viewed them in awe. I swear any of those pictures could be postcards. You just did a fantastic job taking them and aren't we lucky that you posted them . Thank you so much.
Here are some pics from our early October trip to Rapid City. I forgot our camera, so we picked up (actually, purchased) a few one time use cameras. The weather was sunny to rainy and even snowy. It was great, after five months of 90+ hellish weather. The pics are of Custer Park, Sheridan Lake, Pactola Lake, Spearfish Canyon and stream, and Skyline Drive. One shot is some deer in a Rapid City subdivision.
