Thanks Zeph.

That was on my trip in June when they were taken.

I was only in the state a couple of days and I will be moving there in the spring. I've got an obsession with the American West.

Thieroff, those pics are beautiful!!! Thank you so much for sharing them with us. The pics near Mitchell~are they near the James River? Sort of in the area just east of Wild Oak?

It's great to hear that you'll be moving here. AT least you'll be missing out on winter. WELCOME!!

Jammie, first off, thank you. I really enjoy taking pictures, although I don't have much experience.

Now to be honest, I don't know for sure exactly where I took those ones near Mitchell. I know I stopped there for the corn palace, but I decided to drive around town a bit, and in my travels I found that place. It looked to be a pretty decent sized lake. It was definately less than 1.5 miles outside of town, but I do not remember exactly where. It was literally right off to the side of the road. Beautiful country.

I can't wait to get out there, I will most likely be moving somewhere West River.

Thank you again, and I'm glad you enjoyed.

You're welcome.

Hopefully in a year I will have some snow pics of SD, being that I probably won't be moving out there until then.

Black Hills/SD - a photoset on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/creepysleepy/sets/72157594476411216/ - broken link)

There are a few snow pics in this set. They're on Page 2. I really want to emphasize that they are NOT my pictures. They're from a public group of pics on Flickr.

Picture Search - VirtualTourist.com

Not sure if I've already posted this or not. It's one of my fave places for seeing what the rest of the country looks like.

The neat thing is you can see the landscape, architecture, flowers and plants, etc. All you have to do is click on what you're searching for. They have a very nice pic of Roughlock Falls on here.

Great pics Jammie! It's good to see some pictures from your hometown. I like the old style saloon. I HAVE to come up to SD some day. If all of the people are like you, I'm sure it's a great place.
