How can this be allowed to happen to our once beautiful country that I love!!?? How can these savages be allowed to roam the streets and prey on the innocent and hardworking people, WITHOUT any HARSH punishment!!??
What region/area of SD should I be concentrating my search on, if any??!!
Should I go even further north to ND, to get away from this insanity that's destroying our country, or even be looking at Wyoming?!

Stay the hell out of North Dakota. You sound like a bigot. Wyoming doesn't like out of state people. I'd say get over yourself instead.
Wow. I was about to chime in with some recommendations for a few spots that might perfectly fit your criteria, but you (and others here) quickly showed your true colors, devolving this thread into a bigoted, racist rant.
I was also gonna mention some pointers on how to actually interpret SD crime data, but never mind, you're right- stay away, it's a crime-ridden cesspool!

Maybe try Canada instead?
You can still point out places for others. I live in rural SD town and 20 years ago had a population that was almost entirely born here(locally). Now that number is less than half even though we have the same overall population. Because of the new problems the new people brought many people have been leaving like rats from a sinking ship for better for them opportunities. Honestly a LOT of bad has happened because of the immigrants. There has also been just as much good come from it. The problem is most just focus on the bad.

Native Americans. It is what it is, especially if you live near the Rez. Sorry to break it to those who live in a dream world.
Denial in NOT a river in Egypt. Speaking the truth about a big problem doesn't make one a bigot.
People like you are a big part of the problem. And ignoring it won't make it go away.
Referring to people as savages is bigotry. I'm sure you don't read much (you probably want books banned), but savage has very often been used as a slur.
I'm 66, will be retiring in September this year.
Looking to buy a small house just for myself, between 150 to 200K cash, directly from a cashed out 401k.
I'm coming from an area that homicides, robberies, theft, prostitution, and gang activity are common, and all this is just on my street alone.
Firstly, I'm assuming (actually praying) there are properties in my price range.
Criteria in order of importance:
1. Be in a safe and quiet area.
2. Be within 30 minutes or so from major hospital.
3. Hopefully be close enough for hiking, cycling and other outdoor activities.
I happen to love snow, rain and cold; grew up in the Boston area, so harsh winters are nothing new to me.
I'm really hoping this is going to work out, SD is my first and only choice! I'm drawn to SD for many obvious reasons!
Thank you in advance for any responses.
FWIW: You might want to consider the NW corner of Iowa that belonged to former Iowa Congressman Steve King (4th district) now under Rep Randy Feenstra, a more polished version of Steve King. The district extends the western border of Iowa with Nebraska and to the north with South Dakota.
Sioux City for medical. Not sure how far Sioux Falls is from the most northwest corner of Iowa, though. Maybe an hour?
It’s a hilly area and is beautiful and peaceful. Lots of small towns. I’m sure you could find an older home within your price range. Cycling is popular throughout Iowa. I can’t speak to hiking trails but would imagine there must be some in that area. I spend a lot of time driving through the area on my way to the Rocky Mountains and further west. I live in the eastern part of Iowa but prefer the beauty of the hilly western Iowa countryside.
Taxes. Iowa no longer taxes retirement income, IRA, 401k, pensions. Social security is not taxed. A flat income tax for everyone is slowly being instituted to be completed in 2026. I believe it will be 4.0. There is property tax relief for those over 65, though it is not that much but still helps.
(I went to San Jose State in the 1970s before the Silicon Valley. Crime was an issue especially around the university and east San Jose). Back then the storefronts were empty downtown and we needed campus escorts at night).

This is a very good recommendation for "various" reasons. The Iowa border from Sioux Falls is just on the other side of the Sioux River at less than 5 miles. The nearest actual Iowa town of Larchwood (Granite, Iowa don't count) is only 13 miles from SF.
The farmland in this part of Iowa is some of the most expensive in the state. This is due to it's productivity, larger fields, and the fact that several groups who will pay almost anything to buy the land. Housing prices, not so much. The chances of finding a decent house under $ 200,000 are pretty good.

If it quacks like a duck, and looks like one then guess what.
if people don't want to be labeled a savage then they should act civilized.
And btw, it isn't bigotry if it is true.
