ck, where was the picture taken of the water fountains coming out of the ground with the beautiful old buildings in the background from the first set of pics on this page?

That is Clinton Square in Downtown Syracuse. It is where many festivals take place during the warmer months. For instance, this festival is taking place there today and tomorrow: NE Jazz & Wine Festival | CNY Jazz

It turns into a skating rink in the winter. There are a couple of events during that time of year as well.

I think that is what you are referring to, unless you are talking about the fountain in the middle of the lake. That is Onondaga Park(Upper) near the Strathmore neighborhood in the SW corner of the city. About Strathmore

Clinton Square is the one. Looks like a pretty cool spot. I'll have to check it out. Thanks! Good pics btw

Thanks! I think you may also like Hanover Square, which is the area with the fountain surrounded by another set of older buildings. Some of the older buildings behind Clinton Square are right next to Hanover Square too.
