I knew this would be a bad move, but not surprised as the chancellor wants to bring all students in and around main campus, as well as having very little interest/savvy about the business of college athletics. Especially when the city/area has been a regular for hosting the NCAA Tournament since the Carrier, now JMA Wireless Dome has been around.

Syracuse ‘ineligible’ to host NCAA Tournament after loss of Sheraton’s hotel rooms: https://www.localsyr.com/news/local-...a3RmirADwczat4

Hopefully, there will be development elsewhere in the city that includes hotel construction, like the Inner Harbor or even around Erie Boulevard East. With this said, the city also has to look at telling the University, a non tax entity, “No” at times like this, unless they have a plan to make up for the loss.

Community input would be nice as well.

From St. Francis outside of Buffalo: https://twitter.com/TP5__ (Also a track guy with good speed/size)

From McQuaid Jesuit: https://twitter.com/willdimarco80 (a "do what I have to do" type of QB from the 5 times straight Sec 5 Class AA champs)

From Lockport: https://www.hudl.com/profile/8479952/Shey-Williams (a nice, do it all skill player for the Sectional finalists)

I'll stop here, but you have plenty of talent just within the state from those schools that these student athletes got to and other schools like many of the urban and Catholic/private schools across the state(big and small), Maine-Endwell, Carmel, Somers, Cicero-North Syracuse, Shenendehowa(in Clifton Park), Lancaster, Tioga, Salamanca, Massapequa and other suburban/small town schools that could fill out a good portion of the roster with quality players and that will play for a school they have a state wide connection to.
