So...What do you have, or what have you heard? Do you suggest the Kindle or the Nook?

Thank you in advance.
Since I do not read fiction, but rather non-fiction that usually has A LOT of photographs (gardening, home improvement, cooking, homesteading, animal husbandry), I would most certainly want one that had color capabilities. I have seen the Kindle and I was not even remotely impressed. I think I'd go with an iPad because not only can you read books on it, but there is a host of other things (including internet) that it is capable of. Of course, you're paying more.

Actually. Given the choice, I'd just pick old fashioned books, because they don't need batteries! LOL

Nook Color rocks. Mine is rooted running CM7 (android 2.3.3). I have the Nook app, the Kindle app, Google Books app and the ireader app. It is nice not being locked into one provider. I had been reading books on my Android Evo phone, so the 7" screen was a nice change.

The nook is now my car navigation and stereo to boot. I tether GPS and wifi through the Evo in my pocket to the Nook on my dash. Google navigation works perfectly and I stream internet radio from the Nook to my car through a2dp Bluetooth. I also have an obdii Bluetooth adapter in my car that streams all my vehicle's data to the Nook (torque app).

Someone else mentioned it above, but emulators are fantastic on it. I'm playing GBA games on it now. The big screen makes the on screen controls unobtrusive.
