Only 22 states have red light cameras, so the Free State of Florida ain't as free as 28 other states LOL!

Never gotten one of those tickets either in any state

Red light cameras are illegal in Texas, also the state where you can drive as fast as 85 MPH

Love to push the rental car past 95 on those beautiful (and empty) Texas toll roads where speed limit is 85 MPH; now that's what I call FREEDOM

Living in the SW fl. area has hardened my view of red light running and the multitude of violations I view almost daily (too numerous to mention) I have zero tolerance of violators. The deaths i have seen and the ones in the news tells me many things about the motor vehicle culture in Fla. and the unwillingness of the police (mostly county) to enforce the law.
I would not be surprised that some radical standards will be implemented to create mandatory restrictions to curtail speeding in particular. The public will demand it.

IMHO many with improper attitudes to begin with have the idea that their personal freedoms include the right and privilege to break the law and maim others if they choose to. That is not freedom, that is something else (I can't elaborate here) Florida needs to up their standards and make a consorted effort to weed the bad actors out--and off our roadways.
