Missouri has been in Misery for 2 years. Most of the nation's extremely violent weather has been happening there (or so it seems.) Last year it was the terrible ice storms that toppled a lot of the trees around Springfield. This year the same areas have been hit with tornadoes. You can clearly see that the storms have been coming from the deep SW (northern Mexico) and tracking to the Northeast. This is also associated with the drought in the SE. Hopefully this pattern will shift soon, so that things can balance out a bit. And Missouri needs a break!
