Lyric's parents, Misty and Dan Morrissey, say they're taking legal advice, and will no longer allow police to interrogate them. Both have past convictions for felony drug offenses and spent time behind bars. Misty served four years in federal prison.
The one issue I have with law enforcement, is that they play "averages", and more than likely, the family is involved based on "averages", and if the family has a criminal past, bingo...the suspicion card just went over the top.
They are ruthless in trying to "solve" the crime, by intense interrogation, to get a confession.
But, what if...this was a stranger abduction? They have already written it off on the family, because they are not "cooperating".
I don't know the answer. But I believe police work should be investigating all avenues...
THe FBI is involved too (has been, since shortly after they went missing). I just hope there's some DNA that can connect the girls to whoever did this - but after 5 months, it's anyone's guess - not sure what condition they were in when they were found. Heard the story was featured on Jane Velez Mitchell tonite. It's possible 2 people are involved or it was someone known to one or both of the girls or a total stranger(s). What a shame, in the beginning a lot of ppl thought there was a chance they'd be found alive but those hopes dimmed after a while.

YES! Over and over I hear about parents being treated as the only suspects when there is other evidence to look at, or someone being treated as if they were above suspicion when NOBODY IS.
This case is interesting because we have two sets of parents, and they are being treated completely differently.
This is because Dan and Misty are suspects in their daughters disappearance, and Heather and Drew are not.
One set of parents have not been cleared.
I will tell you right now, Dan masterminded this entire mess and executed the girls.
I expect an arrest any day.
But what would be his point in killing them?
