Thanx, Hiker Man. Ain't "seen" a whole lotta you lately. I'll bet you've been out hiking the non-sprawled and non-annexed mountains and deserts?

Yup, had a bad sinus infection for about a week, so I was layin low.

My little home trail is Catalina State Park. So crowded these days though. Hey, who can blame people for wanting to get out and about these days, as spectacular as the weather has been.

ZonyPony,
Thank you for your more than thorough explanation! I now better understand that the "desert bloom" can and often does occur over several weeks in the spring depending on the type of cactus as well as rainfall etc. As I stated, June was a little late last time I was in Tucson so I'm going to shoot for early May this year and stay for around 10 days...that should give me even odds of catching some of the "show" Thanks again!
John

Two-You're good at posting links and quoting other people, but you have not proven a thing. A guy asking a real question about the approximate week or two when cactus bloom(so he can come see them), does not even come close to resembling my post.

First mine was a joke. You apparently did not pick up on that. Let me explain, because I'm starting to feel sorry for you. At the time I posted, Tucson was having very high winds for days on end. Are you with me so far? Really, really high winds. In my post, I asked when all the wind was going stop. Now get ready, here comes the joke. I said I was looking for an exact date and time. Get it?! HaHaHaHaHa! An exact date and time, like someone could really tell me. Let me catch my breath I'm laughing so hard!

I stand by what I said. My joke was an original. Don't be rube!

". . . they would not listen, they did not know how, perhaps they'll listen now."

I visited Tucson from April 24-30 this year and had beautiful weather. I guess I timed the cactus bloom pretty well!
