No, my account hasn't changed. I received an email last week telling me I may qualify for EB and to call EDD immediately. Of course, I can't get through to anyone on the phone so that message is a JOKE.

I don't know if people will stay on their same certifying schedule or not but some people said they got a message telling them they can start certifying July 12th.

My 13 weeks end in two weeks (California).

I wonder what'll happen in my UI account (if anything) or if I'll have to wait for my new benefit year to start before collecting UI, if I don't get a job by then.

My 13 weeks (CA) ended last week. My PEUC experience went very smooth once it was actually set up on my account. So as of now, I have $0 benefits.

You’re not getting anything after the 13 weeks?

Well, I qualify for the 20 weeks of Fed-ED based on the income requirements they listed, so potentially I will get that. But my account hasn't changed yet other than that message to call them. Honestly, I still feel very lucky to have received PEUC because I started to think it wouldn't happen. So I'm still just grateful for that. I'm not going to stress about Fed-ED like I did with PEUC. I'll just "wait and see".

How many of you have received anything in the mail notifying you of your EB (Extended Benefits) eligibility or have had success on line? I read somewhere that there is no one week waiting time to receive EB.

My 13 weeks of PEUC in NJ exhausted last week. I have yet to receive any notification in the mail one way or the other. When I log into my account on DOL UI website, it doesn't give me any option to see account balance or any pending information, only options to change email address, direct deposit, etc. Honestly, that is nothing new, as it has looked like that since I started collecting the 13 weeks PEUC.

My situation is a little unique. I collected regular 26 weeks of UI from 4/2019-10/2019 (they used 2018 quarters). When that exhausted there were no extensions at that time. I took a job as a 1099 worker (self employed) for one company from 11/2019- 3/2020 until the pandemic hit and I had no more work. I tried to file for unemployment, but was told I had to wait until a full year had passed to reapply.

So 4/2020 I reapplied including all my information from my W-2 job and 1099 job, and at the end of May I received notice that I was eligible for the 13 weeks of PEUC. I assume that was based on my employment from the full time W-2 wage job. I am not sure where that puts me in the likelihood of eligibility for the EB 20 weeks. I still have wages not used from 1/2019-4/2019 and 1099 wages.

So today is my usual certifying day so I will try to do that and see what happens.

Correct on there is no waiting week for EB.

You were put on the PEUC extension as you were eligible for that first because your benefits on your UI claim exhausted after 7/1/19 and because you had no new W2 employment to file a new UI claim (it sounds like your W2 quarters used from 2018 probably aged away). During your expired claim year (the one you collected and exhausted) you will need to meet the following criteria to be eligible for EB. Wages in the base period would be the base period from the benefit year you exhausted. And it is supposed to be automatic in NJ if eligible. No one is supposed to have to file anything. Notification should come in the mail.

Re: your PEUC extension (which I'm still waiting on) are you saying when you logged into your NJ DOL online account it never showed you any $$$ or weeks in your online account during those 13 weeks. How did you know $$$ were there and when to claim your weeks then? Did it show you had an open claim after you were approved for the extension. My benefits exhausted and my benefit year expired and I've yet to see or get anything in the mail and nothings changed in my account. dashboard still shows option to file new claim, change direct deposit info, etc on the left hand side.

4. Basic Qualifications and Temporary Changes to EB Program Requirements.

a. Basic Qualifications for EB. EB is payable only after exhaustion of PEUC and other
UC as explained below. During the period that PEUC is available, an individual must
have exhausted PEUC entitlement before commencing receipt of EB. To qualify for
EB the individual must have:

ï‚· exhausted all rights to regular UC under state law;
ï‚· no rights to regular UC with respect to any UC law of another state or Canada;
ï‚· exhausted PEUC;
ï‚· wages in the base period (with respect to the regular UC claim that was
exhausted) that includes one of the following: (1) 20 weeks of full-time covered
employment; (2) wages higher than 40 times the individual’s most recent weekly
benefit amount; or (3) total wages in the base period equal to or greater than 1.5
times the highest quarter (see Section 202(a)(5), EUCA);
ï‚· no disqualifications that would prevent the individual from being eligible for EB
(see Section 202(a)(4), EUCA); and
ï‚· at least one week in the benefit year that begins in an EB eligibility period

From when I filed again in April until the end of May, I kept checking online for my status. There was an option at that time on a main page to fill in SS#, birth date, etc. to see what was going on with your application. For the longest time it kept saying "Pending". Then one day when I checked it had no information at all and said something like your account information is not available.

So I logged into my account to see what that said, and it was what I mentioned above, a page to file a claim, change your email, direct deposit, etc. No balance amount, no money, no weeks information, no indication of any result.

That was when I contacted a congressman's office to get help from them. They sent me the Casework Authorization Form to fill out and return to them. Before I could fill it out, I got notification in the mail that I was eligible for the PEUC and the amount was the same as my previous 26 weeks collected. From there, I checked the UI website to see what day to certify. I didn't need to follow through with the congressman's office.

Now, today I checked my direct account login again, and it's the same as it has been, option to file a claim, change email, direct deposit, etc. No balance amount, no money, no weeks information, no indication of any result. I figured I try to certify today anyway and see what happened. When I went to certify, EB balance was in my account so I could complete my weekly certification! This was for the week ending 7/4/2020.

The only way I can see any balance or amount is when I certify weekly. Even on that page of information it does not say where it is coming from, like regular UI, PEUC or EB, just a balance left after you certify.

How long have you been waiting for your 13 weeks extension? If this is through NJ, contact a Congressman's or senator's office for help if it has been too long a time.
