I wasn't going to post this because there seems to be a twist (or twists plural) in this case. And it's all getting very ODD. The communication on the dog, on FB (ugh) has been extensive but confusing and mixed in with everyone and their brother suggesting things to do to help find Oscar. I believe that everything that can be done has been done, with the exception of posters being put up, but maybe they have been, in the area where he was last seen

The info on the dog has been posted far and wide and definitely in CT. But the latest update from the dog's owner is that the women actually returned back to the area with the dog (after taking him on a hike in a neighboring town? where his AirTag was found) and LEFT THE DOG WITH A NEIGHBOR of the owner who, reportedly, let the dog go. I don't know that area well but I have been there and perhaps the neighbor thought the dog would just find his way home. He is known to everyone in that neck of the woods and I'd guess most people know right around where he lives. No idea why the neighbor would do that and not physically take him home. Or maybe he is a neighbor who doesn't know the owner? No further updates. It appears this dog is still in VT.

Not even my dog but I am angry about this at this point. I hope if this pooch is returned to the owner she thinks twice about letting him wander.

Update as of 9/10 is that poor Oscar is still missing.
The neighbor in question was not well known to the dog's owner, but they knew each other peripherally. I am not sure the neighbor knew the dog. No recent postings other than 9/10. There have been no sightings of the dog since the neighbor let it go. If she knew the dog, I have to believe she thought he'd just go home. She reportedly lived less than 1/2 mile from the owner. I cannot believe he didn't and fear something happened to him.

FaceBook post today - OSCAR HAS BEEN RETURNED HOME!!!!! Me and about 200 other people are just so thankful for this news as I think we all expected the worst. He was turned into the Lamoille County Sheriff's Office yesterday (unk by whom) and I don't know that we'll get any details but it probably doesn't matter. He looks like he's been cared for, thankfully.

He was missing for one month. sigh.
