Live On Long Island looking to go up with my wife and 3yo in February.

Is there usually always snow in certain areas(besides resorts)???

I want to really stay in a scenic area, with snow and indoor pool for daughter but I'm sure to meet all three will be impossible. THanks.

Supposedly these have indoor pools….

More

https://www.tripadvisor.in/HotelsLis...p12558275.html

Not sure how to navigate some of those..

(I loved pools when I was a kid, indoors or outdoors, when I win the lottery…
I shall build house with indoor outdoor pool)

As for snow I have no idea.
This a Vermont weather guy.

I would call it scenic, haven’t been in Woodstock for some time……but as I recall, very nice.

Reason not commenting on the snow is I have **no idea what February will bring.
I live in lower elevation been, getting lots of temperature swings..snow comes and goes comes and goes.
Bare ground right now.
Don’t want to get your hopes up and lead you in wrong direction.
Higher elevations different scenario's.

Maybe someone can provide more input.

The northeast kingdom tends to have more snow than other areas because the temps tend to stay lower among other reasons. But it's not consistent. My house in Essex County had some snow around it on Christmas while much of the state was pretty bare, even a mile away it was bare. Woodstock being where it is will be hit or miss for snow depending on the weather. I will say the towns with ski resorts in them tend to be scenic places and tend to get more snow than some places. That's why the resorts ended up there, although they rely more and more on making it these days.

It’s also a cutie of a town. Craftsbury Common is the stereotypical New England hamlet taken to an extreme. Frank Capra would have approved.

Woodstock is an upscale town in a scenic area.

The Trapp Family Lodge is up in Stowe in a rural setting, but there is also the scenic town of Stowe nearby, which has a lot of tourist services. The downhill ski mountain of Stowe is nearby as well, and the Trapp Lodge offers cross-country skiing and snowshoeing onsite. It's further north than many places, plus they're at about 1,400ft - and even that does make a little difference with the temperatures - so the odds of snow would be pretty good. They also have an indoor pool as well as a heated outdoor pool, and multiple restaurants onsite. I haven't stayed there, but it looks pretty nice, and according to the live cam feed, they look like they have snow now.

I'm a huge fan of Stowe, having spent time there all year round over the years. There are quite a few hotels in the area with pools (indoor and outdoor) but while living there I always rented a house and went to the swimming hole where you can get day passes. Really nice place to swim. https://theswimmingholestowe.com/ This would give you the option to maybe stay somewhere that doesn't have a pool if you found a place you liked that didn't have one.

In my experience, Stowe is pretty reliable with having snow in February. There are a couple more storms on deck for this week / next weekend, and then maybe a warmup but I would expect it to get cold again with more snow.

Stowe is also an easy drive north to the Burlington area, which could be fun to explore.
